Native Hawaiian Wedding Officiant | Kauaʻi, HI
In this sacred space, your love and the land unite to tell a tale of connection and commitment
I believe that your ceremony, when performed with intention, can hold space in a powerful way. It can strengthen your pilina (connection) to each other, to your kūpuna (ancestors), and to papa honua (earth). It becomes something you carry forward — grounding your relationship as it grows into the future. We'll work together to create a ceremony that reflects your story, your values, and your dreams — while also honoring the people, moʻolelo (stories), and ʻāina (land) that will surround and bless the next step of your journey together.

Welina Me Ke Aloha
Aloha mai kākou! I’m Kama, a wedding officiant here on the island of Kauaʻi. Iʻm a husband, father, educator, and farmer. Born and raised as a Kanaka (Native Hawaiian), I’m lineally connected to the land and culture of this island. My mission is to craft ceremonies that honor not only your love for each other but the ʻāina where the next chapter of your story will be rooted.
Crafting intentional experiences that reflect your history, celebrate your moment, & sustain your journey ahead
Day-of-officiating

Upon booking with me, I will help plan the day-of-ceremony by going over elements you find important. I typically incorporate a few Hawaiian components that help center ourselves in gratitude, togetherness, and reflection. 1) Hā (breath) helps center ourselves, relax, and reflect in what can seem like a vast and immeasurable step you are taking, 2) Wai (water) and Paʻakai (salt) will cleanse, renew, and forgive the soul, and 3) Oli (chant) is used to bless your union, provide protection, and provide a clear path to the future. Inquire for more info and example script/outline.

Vow writing &
Coaching

Composing thoughtful vows are often seen as the pinnacle of a wedding, as they transcend the ceremony itself, offering a lasting, heartfelt declaration of love and partnership that shapes the foundation of your future together. Prior to the ceremony we will meet several times to outline your love and commitments, go over example vows, and write/edit vows that best articulate your commitment to each other. This is typically in coordination with my wife, Steph, who is a writer and licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT). Please inquire about example vows I've helped craft.

Flower harvest &
Lei making

Lei are often given during important life events to honor and show appreciation towards the recipient. Lei thoughtfully made by the hands of a loved one are thought to be the most precious. A day or two before the ceremony we will meet in a remote natural area, reflect on your relationship while gathering, and arrange a beautiful and unique lei that celebrate your passage. These lei will represent a tactile connection to the land where your ceremony will take place and symbolize the beginning of your unification.
